Feeling stuck?

Feeling stuck in a situation whether it be a work, personal or emotional one can be frustrating. Knowing when to stay and when to go, when to hold on and when to let go can be a confusing problem. How do we know when to move on from something?

If there’s a situation that we are not sure about, then asking ourselves questions is a helpful starting point. Are we happy more times than not? Does the situation take up a lot of mental space? Is our health being affected in any way? Are we losing confidence in ourselves? Honest answers should show the way.

If we’re not sure what to do, sometimes it helps to just do something, anything, to break the inertia. Clear out a cupboard, throw broken things away, give old clothing to charity. If you have clutter, get rid of it.

Do one thing that is hard to do, or that you have put off for a long time. Behaving differently causes a shift inside us, and who knows what might come from that action.

Taking a step forward even if there is resistance is empowering. It might not be the exact right move or the perfect action, but it could lead to something wonderful and interesting.

“You’ve got to know when to hold ’em
Know when to fold ’em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run.”

Kenny Rogers
